2020 Pilot Power & Performance
Whether you’re cutting across the Tamiami Trail or commuting along 75, it helps to know the level of power that your intended vehicle is capable of. The new Honda Pilot packs quite a punch with its 3.5L V6 engine, generating 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The SUV comes with the 6-speed automatic, but the Touring, Elite, and Black Edition trims include the 9-speed automatic transmission with Shift-By-Wire and Paddle Shifters.
There are two components equipped with the engine that allow the Pilot to achieve its optimal efficiency. The Variable Cylinder Management™ reduces the use of half the cylinders during routine performance to help improve the fuel economy. The Direct Injection ensures that no fuel gets wasted or unnecessarily burned up.
Honda Technology Features
The 2020 Pilot offers an assortment of features within its cabin, from the 5-inch LCD screen to the 7-speaker sound system with Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation. The EX trim and higher includes the 8-inch touchscreen and connectivity features like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
The Pilot also offers a spacious cabin that’s designed to hold seven-to-eight passengers over three rows of seating. The cabin offers 152.9 cubic feet of space reserved for the passengers, while the rest is for your cargo. The SUV includes 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space, but folding down the third row opens it up to 46.8 cubic feet. When the last two rows are folded, the 2020 Pilot offers 83.9 cubic feet of total cargo space.
Advanced Safety Features
One aspect about the new Honda Pilot that can put your mind at ease when behind the wheel is that it comes standard with Honda Sensing®– an assortment of driver-assisting technology features that are designed to detect and provide warnings of a possible collision. These features even use selective braking to help reduce the severity of impact while giving you a window to react and prevent the collision. Honda Sensing® includes:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
