Fourth of July Fireworks

Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda are known for their festivals and social events, and Independence Day celebrations are no different. Many of them start well before noon and continue throughout the day. Located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the water provides a relaxing backdrop for some of the most unique fireworks displays in southwestern Florida.

4th Fest 2015

Presented by Grande Aire Services, 4th Fest 2015 is being held at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda. The gates open at 11 am, and live music begins at noon. The Boogiemen Rock-n-Soul Revue will perform at 6 pm until the fireworks start at 9 pm. The Jack-Michael Band will take the stage once the fireworks end.

The celebration begins early in the day and the list of events, schedules, and information will be displayed on a large jumbotron in the park. A Kids Fun Zone and Water Mania Water Slides will also be on hand to make sure the kids have plenty to keep them occupied.

Englewood Firecracker Festival

The Englewood Firecracker Festival is being held at Pioneer Park at 300 West Dearborn Street in Englewood, just a few miles across the bay to the northwest of Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

The festival begins at 10 am. Several craft and food vendors will be on hand, and multiple bands are scheduled to appear, providing live music for most of the day.

While the adults can enjoy the vendors, live music, and one of the largest muscle car shows in the state, the kids will have access to a bounce house, numerous water slides, and other kid-friendly events.

Fisherman’s Village Fourth of July Celebration

Every year Fisherman’s Village kicks off its Fourth of July celebration with the Freedom Swim that spans Charlotte Harbor. Events start at 10 am and end at 9 pm. Stores normally close at 6 pm, but most restaurants stay open until the event closes.

Live music will be featured at Harpoon Harry’s, and numerous activities will be available for the kids. The entire day revolves around being family-friendly, and kids will have a wide variety of things to participate in along with their parents.

Fisherman’s Village is located at 1200 West Retta Esplanade, Suite 57A in Punta Gorda, FL.

There are also numerous block parties and smaller fireworks events that are available at private parties and organizations. The Charlotte Stone Crabs, for example, provide a fireworks display every Saturday evening. They also host a special display on the game night closest to the actual holiday. Individuals who have purchased a ticket to the game are invited to stay and celebrate the day with other baseball fans.
