The Nissan Altima comes outfitted with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and Xtronic CVT®, but it falls a little short in comparison by producing 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Each engine comes paired with respective continuously variable transmissions. These provide smoother accelerations and direct gear transitions that aid the vehicle’s efficiencies.
