Honda HR-V Maintenance Schedule
The best way to enjoy the seaside streets of Venice, Punta Gorda, and North Port, Florida, is in a Honda HR-V. To keep your SUV cruising, though, you’ll need to keep up with its maintenance. Fortunately, it’s easy to do so when you know the maintenance schedule.
Some of the most important intervals you’ll need to know are:
- 7,500 Miles: Oil change and tire rotation.
- 15,000 Miles: Recurring maintenance and multipoint inspection.
- 30,000 Miles: Potential spark plug replacement or brake system tune-up.
- 60,000 Miles: Transmission fluid change.
Our Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Port Charlotte staff has prepared this article to teach you all about the Honda HR-V’s maintenance schedule. Schedule a service appointment today.
Following Your Honda Maintenance Schedule
Inside your Honda HR-V is the Maintenance Minder indicator. This feature alerts you when your Honda is due for service. It will also let you know when:
- Maintenance is due soon.
- Maintenance is due now.
- Maintenance is past due.
While the maintenance schedules of many vehicles recommend routine services by mileage, the Honda Maintenance Minder makes recommendations by sensing changes within the vehicle. This way, your alerts are fine-tuned to your specific vehicle and driving habits.
Main Maintenance Services
The Honda HR-V contains a manual to decode the Maintenance Minder symbols. There are two main codes that the Maintenance Minder will display: A and B.
When the A symbol illuminates, your HR-V is ready for an oil change, but without a filter change. However, if you don’t see this symbol for 12 months, then you must change your oil.
When you see the B symbol, your Honda HR-V is ready for an oil and oil filter change, as well as an inspection of the following:
- Brake system
- Exhaust system
- Suspension
- Temporary tire kit expiration date
- Level and condition of all fluids
When you bring your Honda in for service, your mechanic will know exactly what to do based on the symbol displayed.
Maintenance Sub Items
In addition to the two main symbols, A and B, you will notice numbers following the letter symbols. These indicate specific maintenance services that need to be scheduled.
Number |
Service Needed |
1 |
Tire rotation and condition check |
2 |
Air cleaner element replacement |
3 |
Transmission fluid replacement |
4 |
Spark plug replacement |
5 |

6 |

Depending on your location, such as areas that are dusty or cities with low air quality, it is recommended that you change your air cleaner element and pollen filter every 15,000 miles.
Additionally, if you either frequently tow heavy trailers or drive through mountainous areas, it is recommended that you replace your transmission fluid every 25,000 miles.
Monthly Inspections
While your Maintenance Minder will let you know when you need to take care of the big stuff, there are other parts that are important to check more frequently:
- Brake fluid level
- Tire pressure
- Exterior lights
In addition, you are advised to check the condition of the wiper blades every six months. Fortunately, you don’t have to conduct these checks yourself. Our service team is happy to do it for you.
