Performance
The Honda Pilot comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 i-VTEC® engine. This powerful motor generates up to 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.
Included under the hood are the Variable Cylinder Management™, Active Control Engine Mount System, and Active Noise Cancellation™ systems. These features complement the engine to deliver peak performance. As an available option, there is the Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ AWD System.
When it comes to fuel efficiency, there are two figures depending on the drivetrain. With the standard 2-wheel-drive version, you’ll achieve an EPA-estimated 20 city and 27 highway MPG.1 Meanwhile, with all-wheel-drive, you can achieve an EPA-estimated 19 city and 26 highway MPG.1
The 9-speed automatic transmission with shift-by-wire and paddle shifters has specific gear ratios for better performance, while also including additional gear shifts for reverse and final drive.
Interior
The interior space of the Honda Pilot is built to accommodate a smooth ride for you and the passengers on board. Within the Pilot’s 152.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, you’ll find the following dimensions:
- Headroom (first/second/third): 40.1 inches/40.2 inches/38.9 inches
- Legroom (first/second/third): 40.9 inches/38.4 inches/31.9 inches
- Shoulder room (first/second/third): 62.0 inches/62.0 inches/57.6 inches
- Hip room (first/second/third): 59.1 inches/57.3 inches/44.6 inches
When you’re considering what you can bring along, the Pilot has three options for cargo space, depending on how many passengers you have on board. The following figures show the standard and maximum cargo volumes:
- Cargo volume (behind third row): 18.5 cubic feet
- Cargo volume (behind second row): 55.9 cubic feet
- Cargo volume (behind first row): 109.0 cubic feet
Trim Levels
Including the base model, the Honda Pilot offers seven trims. Each provides different features than the rest. For example, the EX trim is one level up from the base LX and builds on the base version.
The Special Edition, like all other trims, builds upon the features of the previous trim. This includes roof rails and the hands-free access power tailgate.
The Touring trim features heated first- and second-row seats, while swapping out the second-row bench seat for a pair of captain’s chairs. Going up from this level, the Elite and Black Edition trims are packed with ultimate luxury features.
